Our Ethos
Whatever a child’s background or starting point, we want to make sure that they leave us with the academic knowledge and social skills necessary to succeed.
As a Harris Federation primary, we believe that everybody has the right to feel safe, happy and respected. The whole community strive for Harris Primary Academy Croydon to be best it can possibly be which is encapsulated by our vision statement: “Excellence: every child, every day”. Our core values of: Perseverance, Achievement and Kindness, underpin everything that happens in our academy and we have high expectations that these are followed and modelled by all staff, parents and children.
As a result of the exceptional practice at our school every single day our children achieve outstanding outcomes each year and we are incredibly proud of them. Alongside academic achievement, we want our academy to be a safe and caring space with the children excited and happy to come to school every day to learn, grow and develop.
All children are treated fairly and we acknowledge individual needs. We expect all our children to work to the best of their abilities and to allow others to do the same. Our 'Golden Rules' underpin our academy ethos:
- Show Respect
- Take Responsibility
- Always Make the Right Choice
HPAC Community Champions
Our Community Champion themes are revisited each year, to ensure children leave HPAC with a clear understanding of these topics and a commitment to being champions of these areas themselves in their future lives. We feel passionate that these themes should not only be taught discretely and instead should form the foundation, rather than an ‘add on’ or tokenistic teaching approach. Although a monthly theme has been chosen, this does not mean to say these topics are not covered throughout the year, rather that we believe it is important to explore the theme in greater detail discreetly. Furthermore, we intend to add other key advocates to the overview in the document below and welcome any suggestions. We are looking forward to working with our parents and local community to support us with our challenges and events. For more information, please see the documents below.
